We must admit that since we started 18 months ago, we have not really had a bad time.
We always preferred to wait for the weather to make long voyages.
The worst time we had was Veragas Escudo de Colon. Since then we have made two voyages - one of 21 miles, another 12 miles. Both were horrible! The wind in the nose, big swell ... every time we checkers anchor, we say that we should sell and we buy a camper. From schnoutte! BUT, we know that is transient and after we will have fun at the anchorage. Basically, when you think, for the road from Colon to Portobelo (21 miles), we have put in five hours. But then we spent 3 days. 5 hours for 3 days ...
One woman said the other day she had spent 4 years on a catamaran with his family (twins 8 years) in the South Pacific. In 4 years, they spent a total of 37 days at sea She said that whenever it was ... OK. No extras, not great, not crappy, just OK. But 37 days to spend 4 years to visit all racoins South Pacific, we would not say no.
J'pense that living on a sailboat is much more than travel by sailboat. It's do our laundry, do school, cooking - it's doing good and bad navigation. Is to accept everything. But ultimately, when you throw the anchor, you raise your eyes, you see the white sand beach and palm trees that your children are quick to jump into the water and it only remains for you that you shaker a little margarita, we found it perfect as bin lifestyle. Not always great, not always great, not always crappy, but still acceptable ben!
